Taking a time out for a quick lunch break, a dapper George Clooney suits up Monday to film a commercial spot for the specialty coffee brand Nespresso in Milan.

George Clooney And Sarah Larson: Kaput?

Did Sarah Larson exceed her freshness date?  She did if you believe In Touch magazine.  They claim that George Clooney gave his girlfriend of almost a year the boot.  Well, she is 29 and The Clooney likes to adhere to the "Logan's Run" rule: Over thirty and you're off to the glue factory.

Per an insider--who I'm sure was right on the phone with the tabloid--George is "relieved to be single again," but that breaking up was hard to do:

"He thinks Sarah is sweet and that is why it was so hard to break up with her.  The truth is that they had little in common and he just doesn't want to be tied down."

Gee, there's a shock.  A former Las Vegas cocktail waitress and a Triple A-List celebrity with nothing in common.  Go figure.

George's rep issued an interesting non-comment comment, saying:

“I can only confirm that we have never commented on George's personal life.”

George Clooney Auctions Gift Bags For Charity

Yesterday, QLu, the on line celebrity auction site, began a series of auctions on behalf of artists and their significant humanitarian efforts. Will George Clooney Return To ER?

Less than a month ago George Clooney was saying there was no chance he was going to be returning to "ER" in the fall for the show's 15th season (about four too many in my book...but no one asked me).  Now, suddenly, there's another country heard from--this time in the shape of actor Scott Grimes, who plays, er...some doctor on the show.  Sue me (not really, I have nothing), I gave up on that show after Noah Wylie left.

But Grimes seems to think that on the basis of some drinks at a bar?  The Clooney will be back.  He gave an interview to Yo On E! where he retold his brush with George.

"We got lucky. We were at a bar recently, and the cast was at a table, and George comes over and hung out with us for like four hours. He ended up paying for our whole meal, and he’s just such a good dude it's really disgusting. I’m serious, man, I was so glad my girlfriend wasn’t there either because I fell madly in love with him...And I’m a heterosexual man!"

According to Grimes, George was asking "a lot about" the show, hence, he puts the odds of him returning at 85 percent.

Which sounds more like the fervent wish of a fanboy/actor who wants to get his name out there than anything with any truth to it.  But Scott's convinced.

"I just have a weird feeling about this! Having met him once, I just get that feeling that he’s that kind of guy...He knows it would be a ratings bump, he knows it’s a historical show that’s ending and he’d want to be a part of that. He'd do it to help out the show because he’s that kinda guy."

And I'm sure if Clooney does do it it'll have nothing to do with the press it will get him.  No, it'll be about helping out the show.  Seriously, is this Grimes dude fresh off the bus? 

By the way, last week executive producer John Wells said he hasn't asked George and that he "doubts very much" that this will come to pass.  Then, again, Leatherheads hasn't exactly been burning up the box office so a little good "ER" PR might be--oh, yes, I'm going to say it--just what the doctor ordered.

George Clooney doesn't like people insulting his girlfriend, Sarah Larson.  And if you do?  Be prepared to pay the consequences, because The Clooney has mad detective skillz and will come after you.  Except he won't be able to find you and then you'll get away with it and regale friends and family with tales of how you pissed George off. 

Case in point:  Clooney tells the New Yorker (and retold via Page Six) that he had a voicemail left on his home phone from someone urging him to dump Sarah.  The message said:

"Dude, your friends asked me to give you a message: Dump the bitch before you're sorry!"

Apparently Sarah was at this interview and took the opportunity to whine about how mean everyone is to her;

"They say that I'm a stripper. There's a ton of stuff about that. I've never been a stripper. You know, just because I'm from Las Vegas, I must be a stripper. Because I'm a cocktail server, that means I'm an escort."

Yeah, I don't know why anyone would get the wrong idea about her.  It's not like there are pictures or anything.

So, anyway, George gets his driver, who's also a rent-a-cop, to trace the call.  Turns out it came from a pre-paid cellphone and tried to find out how the caller paid to track him down.  Unfortunately, the trail went cold there.  Hence, George didn't get satisfaction, but by retelling this story has now given the dregs of society an idea.  Smart move there, Georgie.

I don't know--I like George well enough, but he's starting to sound like a giant gas bag, always complaining about something under the guise of being this chivalrous gentleman.  It's starting to seem a little, dare I say...phony?

"Leatherheads" Premiere: Renee And George And Sarah Makes Three

All involved parties showed up fo the "Leatherheads" premiere in Hollywood last night.  Of course, Renee Zelleweger and George Clooney...and George's other half of the past few months, Sarah Larson.  I'm kind of surprised she's lasted this long but, then again, I'm not.  I get the feeling George likes plucking these girls out of relative obscurity because there's less mess to handle when he's ready to move on.  I mean, you date an Aniston and you're guaranteed to have to deal with not only all her drama, but all the tabloid attention a pairing like that would entail.  So George picks a Vegas party girl, gets some attention, but it's not suffocating.  Then when he cuts and runs, she's probably just grateful she got to go to a few Hollywood premieres and got some fun trips out of it.

Or, you know, it could be true love.  My gut is not an exact science, people.

Anyway, this movie.  I have to say, though it's getting some good, early reviews, I have no interest.  Which surprises me as I usually want to see George's movies.  But, this?  I just get a 'meh' vibe from it.  Maybe it's the whole notion of resurrecting the whole screwball comedy angle, maybe it's Renee's squinty face or John Krasinski's rubber one, but I think I'll pass.

Oh, one last thing: doesn't the above picture look like a man, his bored, aging wife and the man's mistress?  I'll leave it to you to puzzle out who's who in my scenario.

Sarah Larson: Does George Know About This?

Sure, Sarah Larson looks sweet and demure when she's standing with George Clooney on a red carpet, but the girl has a not-so-secret--and not-so-private--wild past in Vegas.  Oh, and by the way: not so very  past. Star magazine has found some photos of Sarah from July of 2007, which was just after she met The Clooney, where she's "getting friendly" with some dude in a nightclub.  The photos are fairly tame, but if you work at a Church or something, I guess you might hesitate to look, lest ye be thought a heathen.  If not, they can be seen here and here.

As a source who is described as "close" to Sarah notes:

"Sarah looks like she totally belongs, walking down the red carpet on George's arm.  She's even been described as having a successful runway and print modeling career. But until recently, her modeling career consisted mostly of being paid by promoters for clubs, magazines and radio stations to attend special events in sexy outfits and party with her wild girlfriends!...Sarah is outgoing and fun and loves to drink. She likes to get wasted when she goes out — but hey, that's what Vegas is all about!"

True, hence the phrase "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."  Of course, when you're dating a mega movie star that's going to be difficult to achieve.  Though something tells me George doesn't really mind her illustrious past.  That might even be part of the attraction.
