Clay Aiken is gearing up to release his fourth album, "On My Way Here," next month, RCA Records announced on Friday.

The latest CD from the former American Idol contender is scheduled to be released on May 6. It's his first album of original songs since his 2003 double-platinum debut, "Measure of a Man."

Aiken's single, "On My Way Here," premieres on AOL as a First Listen.

"I thought if we could find songs that relate to what's gone on in my life over the past five years and address what I've learned from my experiences, it would be a great concept for my album. Since I got into this business, I've learned so much about myself. I think this album covers how far I've come, personally and professionally."

Clay Aiken In a Chick Fight

The jokes for this one just write themselves: Clay Aiken was allegedly involved in a fight with a woman on an airline flight the other day.  Though neither was identified, they were both interviewed by the FBI and the agent told a local newspaper the male passenger was a former American Idol contestant.

The tussle--which probably included hair-pulling and tears--happened on a Continental Airlines flight to Tulsa and had to do with Aiken (allegedly) resting his foot on the woman's armrest.  After that a melee insuied with the woman screaming at Aiken to get his hoof out of her space and Clay telling her to talk to the hand.  No, not really--but couldn't you picture it?

No one was charged in the incident, but I bet that diva will start to charter planes in the future.  Seriously, if the first runner-up from American Idol can't rest his weary feet wherever he wants, what is the world coming to?
