Now Rumer Willis Wants To Sing

Rumer

As if it wasn't bad enough that she desperately wants to be an actress, now Rumer Willis apparently wants to be a singer.  Sweet fancy Moses help us all.  Yes, according to Planet Gossip, Rumer got up on stage at Teddy's nightclub last Thursday night and sang Missy Elliot's "The Rain" with the band--and that it was not so great.

"I mean, it wasn't that she was that off-tune or horrible, but she just wasn't that good.  The crowd was not feeling it."

They were probably staring and wondering why Jay Leno was trying to entertain them in drag.  Oh, and incidentally, like everything Rumer does, there was a familial connection.  Stepdaddy Ashton's former "That 70's Show" co-star Danny Masterson is the host of this Thursday night happening.  Can't she ever just do anything without playing the nepotism card?

Rumer Willis: Miss Golden Globes

Rumer

That always sounds like it should be the name of a stripper or a Playboy centerfold, but no.  It's actually what the Hollywood Foreign Press calls the honor given every year to a Hollywood kid who gets to stand on stage and hand out the awards at their annual ceremony.  Call it a Salute to Nepotism.

So, this year, Rumer Willis, daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, has been named Miss GG.  Oh, joy!  Yet another reason for her to walk around thinking she's famous for anything other than having famous parents--and, no, I don't think The Chin gets that's the whole point of being given the job of award-hander-outer.  I don't think she's very bright.  Delusional?  Yes.  Driven?  For sure.  Smart?  I wouldn't bank on it.

You know she's going to ride this accolade forever.  I see weekly People stories about Rumer going for dress fittings, and Rumer going to rehearsals, for the next two months.  She's going to elevate second generation famewhore to new levels.  Just you watch.

Rumer Willis: See What I Mean?

46727_celebutopiamf_rumer_willis0_2Just yesterday I was saying that Rumer Willis is desperate--DESPERATE--to be famous.  Not that that's a tough one to call, I mean, I half expect to open my front door one day and see her there, that's how ubiquitious she's becoming, but little did I expect to have my words validated quite so quickly.  Sure enough, on today's People.com comes the headline: "Rumer Willis Says Fame Is a 24-Hour Job."  As is being a famewhore, I suppose.

In the fascinating piece, The Chin tells People that she understands the responsibility of being famous and she's up for the challenge of those nasty bloggers making fun of her (oh, good--I always prefer to get permission):

"Before I started working, I would have said, 'You know, it's not really fair, because I didn't choose this.' But when you decide to be a part of this profession and put yourself out there, then you kind of have to accept what it is."

See what she did there?  Slipped in the part about how she's a working actress now and she's wise to the ways of fame, even if that means never eating cheese fries in public again:

"It's a 24-hour job.  It doesn't matter if you are going out to a restaurant – you have to be aware of what you are doing and how you look and how you are presenting yourself, because most of the time people never get to know you."

Oh, does she mean like dyeing her hair platinum blonde (for a whole week) to get attention?  Is that what she means by being aware?  Geesh, can her head get any bigger?

Rumer Willis: Trick Or Treat

46727_celebutopiamf_rumer_willis0_2

Does the term "trying too hard" mean nothing to Rumer Willis?  Because, yeah, at this point she'll show up for the opening of an envelope--and do so with a new crazy hairstyle or perfectly timed story to tell, whatever it takes to get noticed.  I mean, points for going to a Halloween benefit for children with AIDS, but she had to make sure people talked about her, right?  Why else would she haul out the half Elvira/half Sunset Blvd. hooker costume?

Is all her hard work paying off?  Well, she's got two movies in post-production: "I Know What Boys Like" (the one that had pictures of her in a back brace "mysteriously" leaked to the  press) and "From Within" (the horror movie she filmed in Virginia, where she just happened to be in a hotel room when a pot bust occurred).  Hardly parts that are noteworthy, but then again, the first ones she's gotten that couldn't directly be associated with Mommy Demi and/or Daddy Bruce--which I'm sure is enough to make her continue on her chosen "I wanna be a star" path of doing whatever it takes to get noticed.  I see a semi-nude scene--complete with interview with Entertainment Tonight about how she struggled with the decision to take it--in her near future.  Whatever it takes, that's her motto.

Rumer Willis: Just Give Up

Rumerwillisplatinumblonde06

Rumer Willis went back to her hair salon yesterday, apparently to get her ridiculous hair styled some more.  Because, lord knows, that over-bleached, over-processed Brillo head needs to be messed with more.  I don't know the last time I saw a no-talent celebrity child try so hard to be so relevant.  I mean, I'm sure she really believes all these B-movie parts she's getting are because she's good enough, she's talented enough, and gosh darnit, people like her--but let's be real here, 'k?  She's the equivalent of Flounder in "Animal House:" a legacy, hoping and praying some producers hire her on the name factor alone.

Having said that, the hair is just so, so bad.  I can only hope this latest styling effort included dyeing her eyebrows to at least match the hair.  Because the dark caterpillar brows and blonde head went the way of the dodo bird in the late '80's when Madonna rocked it.

Rumer Willis: Begging For Attention

Rumerwillisduncecap_2 Is there anyone in Hollywood trying harder for people to notice her than Rumer Willis?  Because I'm thinking no.  The oldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore desperately wants to be an actress--or really anything in the entertainment industry.  If it wasn't so comical it would be pathetic.  Eh, or maybe it's both.

The latest attempt to come off as this great, independent person comes courtesy of People magazine (naturally), when they talked to her at a benefit she attended on Saturday night (she pretty much shows up at the opening of an envelope in Hollywood).  About the back brace photo:

"That picture was taken from a photo shoot we did for the movie for a calendar in the film that shows [the sorority girls] going too far.  Somebody happened to take a picture and leak it. It is what it is."

Right.  "Somebody" just happened to "leak" it.  Given the amount of attention it received on the entertainment shows and the Internet, I think the somebody's name is Rumer Willis.  It's nice to know she inherited the "the general public is stupid" gene from one, if not both, of her parents.

About this movie she's talking about, "House Bunny," she praises her co-stars, but manages to also plug herself:

"The girls I'm working with are such sweethearts, and I tend to not like girls, and I think most of my costars are the same way but we all get along so well."

That's rich.  She tends to "not like girls."  Given prior to this big break of hers as a B-movie queen she was best known for trailing behind Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton, methinks someone is trying, already, to recreate herself.  Shouldn't that wait until at least one giant career setback well into her thirties?

Then, the kicker: she wants to sing, too.  Of course she does!  The Chin is multi-talented, y'all.

"I love a lot of different things.  I really like acting, I really like music and I love photography. In a perfect world I could do all three. In the future, I would love to do an album. I have been singing since I was really little which not a lot of people know about so it's one of those fun, personal things."

God help us all--she's never going to go away.

Bruce Willis Sour on Car Deal

Bruce Willis is pissed off.  And when Bruce Willis is pissed off we should all be happy he doesn't go all "Yippee-Ki-Yay, Motherf*c&er" on anybody--because I could really see that happening.  He always has that look that's half "life of the party" and half "I could kill you with my bare hands and I swear they'd never find the body."  But no need for all that when it's easier--and neater...and legal--to just take someone to court.  Yes, it's true--a celebrity in a lawsuit.  Go figure!

This time the problem is that Willis bought a car that turned out to be a big, old lemon--at least that's what he says.  According to Bruno, he purchased the 1967 GTO for $65,000, but that the auto dealership, Black Tie Classics, sold him "an inoperable car riddled with extensive mechanical problems."  He's also claiming the company told him the vehicle was in "museum quality condition."

But here's where it gets good.  According to John Bertino, owner of Black Tie, the car was in tip top shape when Willis took possession of it.

"They were complaining the moment they got the car. It's a beautiful car. There is nothing wrong with it.  I've heard of persons with egos, but this is ridiculous."

He also claims Willis never bothered to inspect the car before he bought it.  Which is really, really stupid.  Sorry, Bruce, but it is.
